I am still working on the review for this Toshiba Portégé R500, which is amazing. Seeing as it is taking longer than I had hoped, I thought I would tide you guys over with some rather revealing images of this amazing little computer. so without further ado here they are:

So after taking apart this unit I must say, I am very pleased with the build quality. I will have a review posted soon, I just needed to get somethings working properly before I could move on with other projects. If anybody has any special requests for pictures let me know, I will see if I can accommodate you.

[update] I have been reading the comments on the other blogs that have picked up my post (thank you guys very much) and I have tried to optimize the load times of the images. To that extent, I have redone the table containing the images, they are now very tiny 40-60kb images. The way WordPress does its thumbnails is questionable at best. At any rate, it should be much better now. Sorry to the previous users who had to endure the load times, I will try not to let that happen again. Another comment I read was that some people think that the machine’s casing is made of silver painted plastic, this is false. the casing is a material called Magnesium Alloy, and it is very common to find it in this size machine. Panasonic was one of the first companies to use it in their Toughbook (or Let’s Note, in Japan) line of computers. The reason for magnesium alloy is it is 20x times more impact resistant (according to Panasonic Canada) versus ABS plastic, which is more commonly found in laptop computers. ABS plastic is prone to cracking, magnesium alloy is much more resilient to damage.
